Ready to throw bigger? This 2-day throwing big pottery course is designed for anyone with previous wheel-throwing experience who wants to build confidence working with larger amounts of clay. Across two sessions, you’ll spend 3 hours throwing each day, with additional time for setup and clean-up. You’ll work with up to 5kg of clay, developing your control and technique while exploring different shapes and forms. What you’ll learn Centre and throw with larger amounts of clay Identify and correct common throwing habits Master the perfect cylinder as a foundation for larger forms Explore techniques for creating different shapes Understand how clay responds to heat and water Build confidence when throwing larger decorative or functional forms Experience required: You should already feel confident centering 3–4kg of clay, as the class will be working with 5kg. Please note: Pieces made during this course will not be kept after the class. This course is a great opportunity to push your wheel-throwing skills further, work with more clay and gain the confidence to create larger forms.

Reminders: - Clay, aprons and tools will be provided during the class. - Fingernails should be kept short for health and safety reasons. - Please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a bit of clay on. - Please do not wear any accessories or leave them around the studio if possible. - Please come 10 minutes prior to the start of the class, as this will allow you to sign in and get ready for class demonstration. - It is your responsibility to arrive on time for the class. Upon arriving to your class 30 minutes or later, we have the right to reject you joining the class without any refund or rescheduling. -Please check your confirmation to ensure you arrive at the correct studio to the correct class.
