Service Description

Join us for a special festive workshop and discover the beauty of Kintsugi (金継ぎ, meaning “golden joinery”) — the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to restore a piece of handmade studio pottery or a ceramic Christmas decoration created by our potters. Using the art of Kintsugi, you’ll transform broken pieces into something beautiful and completely unique to take home. Guided by our experienced ceramists, you’ll learn the process of carefully joining and repairing ceramics while embracing the beauty of imperfection. What’s Included - All materials provided - Choose one piece from a selection of studio-made ceramics or handmade ceramic Christmas decorations - Take home your own one-of-a-kind repaired piece - Option to repair additional studio-made pieces for a small extra fee About Kintsugi Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, celebrating the cracks and history of an object rather than hiding them. The repaired lines become part of the piece, giving it a new story and making every creation completely unique. Details - £35 per person - Includes one piece to repair and take home Additional pieces may be available for an extra fee. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Aprons are also available in the studio.

Reminders: - Clay, aprons and tools will be provided during the class. - Fingernails should be kept short for health and safety reasons. - Please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a bit of clay on. - Please do not wear any accessories or leave them around the studio if possible. - Please come 10 minutes prior to the start of the class, as this will allow you to sign in and get ready for class demonstration. - It is your responsibility to arrive on time for the class. Upon arriving to your class 30 minutes or later, we have the right to reject you joining the class without any refund or rescheduling. -Please check your confirmation to ensure you arrive at the correct studio to the correct class.
