Calling all potters! Whether you’re just starting out or ready to explore new techniques, Cernamic has some exciting short courses coming up this spring and summer that you won’t want to miss. From handbuilding to raku firing and matcha sets, there’s something for everyone.
These courses are designed to give you hands-on experience, whether you’re looking to develop your skills after a beginners course or trying pottery for the very first time. Each course includes all materials—clay, glazes, and firings—so you can focus entirely on creating and enjoying your work.

Level: Suitable for those who’ve completed a beginner course
Dates & Time: 30 May - 13 Jun (Saturday), 1-3:30pm
Location: Stoke Newington Studio
Step into the world of raku! Over three weeks, you’ll make and fire your own stunning raku pots, exploring the unique, unpredictable beauty of raku firing. Each session focuses on throwing, trimming, and firing your piece, so you leave with a finished pot to keep or gift.
Level: Perfect for complete beginners

Location: Stoke Newington Studio
Love matcha? In this course, you’ll create your own matcha bowl and whisk holder from start to finish. Over three weeks, you’ll throw, trim, and glaze your set, leaving with a functional and beautiful tea set to enjoy your rituals at home.
Level: Perfect for complete beginners
Dates & Time: 25 May - 15 Jun (Monday), 6:30-9pm
Location: Dalston Cernamic Studio
Our long-awaited handbuilding-only course is finally here! Over four weeks, you’ll explore traditional handbuilding techniques like coiling, slab building, carving, and glazing. This course is perfect for beginners looking to develop confidence and take home several fully handmade pieces.
