服務說明
This course is designed for those who have completed a full beginners' pottery course with us or at another studio and are ready to develop their wheel-throwing skills further. It is not suitable as a taster session or for complete beginners, as participants are expected to have a basic understanding of the pottery process from start to finish, including centering, throwing, trimming and glazing. Throughout this course, you'll build on the foundations of wheel throwing, developing greater confidence and consistency with your technique while learning a range of new skills. With guidance from your tutor, you'll refine your centering and throwing, improve your trimming, and explore more creative surface decoration and glazing methods. Over five weeks, you'll cover: Week 1: Throwing off the hump – making multiple small forms from one larger piece of clay Week 2: Trimming on a chuck and learning to throw your own chuck Week 3: Throwing larger forms (up to 2kg of clay) and creating simple combined forms Week 4: Exploring slip decoration, surface design and carving techniques Week 5: Glazing your finished pieces What’s Included * No extra costs: clay, glazes, and firings are all included in the course price * Please prepare by cutting your nails short, wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (clay washes out easily), and bringing a tea towel and a plastic bag Attendance & Make-Up Lessons We understand that a 5 week commitment is a big ask. Unfortunately, we are not able to reschedule a makeup lesson unless it is an emergency. If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a class, please contact us via email. We will do our best to place you in an appropriate class on another course. Each student is entitled to one free makeup class, which can be arranged via email. If you know you will miss a class, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you as best as possible.
