Intermediate  Pottery Course

Experience Level: Completion of the Beginners/tasters class or its equivalent.

£140 per person

 

This is a 4 weeks pottery Intermediate course suitable for students wanting to develop their skill and knowledge. The course will give you a chance to build your skills at throwing, handbulding and glazing.
 

This is a practical course that is designed for pottery students who have progressed beyond the beginners level. The aim is to broaden your existing knowledge and develop new skills in surface decoration as well as develop personal throwing styles by utilizing a wide range of pottery techniques.

 

Course Layout 

 

 Week 1: Throwing

  • Clay preparation  wedging, kneading Throwing tall cylinders.
  • Throwing closed forms.

 

Week 2: Throwing

  • Throwing lids.
  • Throwing plates.

 

Week 3: Turning

  • Turning, burnishing.

 

Week 4: Glazing

  • Introduction on how to make your own glaze.

 

The workshop is run in a group of maximum 8 people.All materials, tools and firing are included.
